A recap video from the previous events opened up the broadcast. The new entrance of Saturday Night Slam starts while a solo Jim Ross introduced everyone to the program being broadcasted from The Three Rope Wrestling Arena in Studio D, Atlanta GA. Jim Ross discussed recent events leading up to tonight's broadcast before the ring announcer introduced the first match of the evening. "Road Warrior" Hawk Defeated Paul Orndorff- "Road Warrior" Animal assisted due to interference from Paul Orndorff's tag team partner, Scott Steiner. Hawk was able to capitalize on the outside distraction between both of their tag team partner's and catch him with his signature move for the win. A commercial advertising the Urban Freedom event played, after the quick ad for the next event ended. Another commercial showed advertising the previous event (SLAMJAM) coming to Blu-ray soon. Saturday Night Slam resumed this time showing Jacob Roode discussing something with Johnny Ace backstage in his office. The conversation ended with Jacob Roode disagreeing and storming out. Sheamus (c) Defeated Rob Van Dam - This match was an open challenge for the US Championship. Rob Van Dam accepted the challenge, RVD used every move in his arsenal of moves, but Sheamus managed to catch RVD mid-air with a Bro Kick for the win. The show came back to the locker room, were Ric Flair caught the attention of an angry Jacob Roode. Ric Flair explained he needed to not worry, he had a tag team to replace "The Role Model's" in the wargames match on Sunday. Jacob Roode shrugged it off and told Ric Flair whoever he had in mind could have the spot because he had bigger issues to worry about. Mark Henry Defeated Bruno Sammartino - The match was an even match up, however, Mark Henry's size and strength just took a toll on Bruno, and in the end Mark Henry was able to catch him in the World's Strongest Slam for the victory. After the bell, Mark Henry yelled something at the fans in the front row about how he could defeat anyone at any time, and would become the next man to challenge Lex Luger for the World Heavyweight Championship on his time and terms! The Undertaker Defeated Mr. Perfect - Curtis Axel tried to interfere but was met with a chokeslam. Undertaker reversed the perfect plex and turned Mr. Perfect over for his signature piledriver getting the victory. Undertaker celebrated his victory with his signature pose in the middle of the ring. The victory marked his 21-week undefeated streak in Three Rope Wrestling. Backstage, The World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger stood by with an interviewer, he told the audience he feared no man, and whoever was sending these messages could show up at War Between The Four after he defeated Hulk Hogan and Curtis Axel for the second and third time! Back in the ring, the ring announcer announced the main event segment introducing "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Piper's Pit with guests, RVD, Ric Flair, Cesaro, Mark Henry - The Piper's pit segment was chaotic from the minute Rowdy Piper introduced his guests, the participants of the Iron-rung match. Each superstar had something to prove from Rob Van Dam to Antonio Cesaro telling the audience where they have been and where they are going. But no one had more to prove than the 418 pound, "world's strongest man" Mark Henry! When tensions rose all of the superstars went after one another. Mark Henry wouldn't even allow the ladder to be introduced. Mark Henry broke the ladder by tossing it aside, he then showed his power by dismantling everyone. It seemed Mark Henry was going to end the program with his dominate stance, until Brock Lesnar suddenly re-appeared! Brock Lesnar came out with the Censored championship and the fans reacted chanting not only Brock Lesnar's name but a promotional name that was nerve racking to Jacob Roode. Roode was furious with not only Brock Lesnar's surprise appearance but the appearance of that championship. Mark Henry did not stand down, but Brock Lesnar did not engage Mark Henry, Brock just climbed up on the ring apron and stared him down. Brock tossed the censored championship at Mark Henry's feet and told him a time and date before the broadcast went dark. |
