3RW Saturday Night SLAM! / June 27th 2015 / Episode One |
A recap video from the previous events opened up the broadcast. The new entrance of Saturday Night Slam starts while a solo Jim Ross introduced everyone to the program being broadcasted from The Three Rope Wrestling Arena in Studio D, Atlanta GA. Jim Ross discussed recent events leading up to tonight's broadcast before the ring announcer introduced the three rope wrestling president and CEO Jacob Roode. "3RW Presidental theme" played across the PA system queuing the arrival of the one and only Jacob Roode, accompanying him to the ring were Ted Dibiase, Mr. Wallstreet, Johhny Ace. All four men climbed into the ring and Jacob Roode took the microphone from the ring announcer. Jacob Roode discussed the recent shortcomings of his fellow colleagues. He started with naming off each idiotic decision they made in his absence. Finally after embarrassing them in front of the live studio audience, he decided to right the wrongs of his administration! Jacob Roode simply told them each one of them were about to compete against one another along with lowest ranking superstar on the power 15. The superstar who was pinned would be terminated from their current position. Paul Orndorff Defeated, Ted Dibiase, Johnny Ace, Wallstreet - After a coordinated effort, the match would end in dysfunction. Paul Orndorff was able to capitalise on their mid-match bickering and laid Johnny Ace out on the canvas with his signature piledriver. Ted Dibiase saw his fellow administration member was about to be eliminated, and he was able to stop Paul from pinning him by tossing him out through the middle rope. However, Ted Dibiase's greed got the better of him after looking around realizing no one could stop him. Ted Dibiase took advantage of Johnny Ace's condition and covered him for the three count. A commercial advertising the Urban Freedom event played, after the quick ad for the next event ended. Johnny Ace stormed into Jacob Roode's office and confronted him about his loss. Jacob Roode however, had no sympathy for him and called for security to escort him out. Another commercial showed advertising the previous event (SLAMJAM) coming to Blu-ray soon. Saturday Night Slam resumed this time showing Jacob Roode discussing something with the United States Champion, Billy Gunn. Once the conversation came to a close Jacob Roode left the locker room area leaving Billy Gunn to prepare for his match of the evening. Billy Gunn (c) Defeated Rob Van Dam - This match was an open challenge for the US Championship. Rob Van Dam accepted the challenge, RVD used every move in his arsenal of moves, but Billy Gunn wouldn't stay down. The year long champion was determined to retain his championship. Billy Gunn rolled out of the way after RVD attempted his signature frog splash and Billy was able to capitalise by using his own signature the Famous drop, to put RVD away for the three count. The show came back to the locker room, were Mark Henry and Andre "The Giant" were bickering with one another, with Ted Dibiase in the middle. Finally in a bit of rage, Mark Henry trashed the room before announcing he would not only defeat the Undertaker but end his 30-day undefeated streak, and he did not need the services of either Andre "The Giant" or Ted Dibiase. Undertaker Defeated Mark Henry - To everyone's surprise Mark Henry dominated the majority of the match. Mark seemed to have scouted the Undertaker in their previous battles, however, Mark Henry overconfidence allowed Undertaker to bait him into a Hell's Gate Submission when Mark Henry tried to pull Undertaker off the mat. While Mark Henry was collecting his thoughts at Ringside, Undertaker celebrated his victory. Another recap was shown of the recent events leading up to the next tag team grudge match. All three of these superstars have been involved with one another of the past month trying to secure a number one contender's victory to face the European Heavyweight champion, HBK! HBK & Bruno Sammartino Defeated Razor Ramon & Sheamus - The duo of HBK and Bruno worked out better than Razor and Sheamus. in the middle of the match a gassed and tired Razor tried to tag out, however, Sheamus refused to tag in and left the tag team corner and ringside. Razor was left to fend for himself and Bruno tagged in his partner HBK allowing him to tune up the band, and catch Razor with his super-kick for the victory. Bruno Sammartino joined in the post-match celebration however when Bruno went to hand over the European championship he hesitated looking to HBK before handing it back over to him leaving the ring. HBK seemed to take note of it and looked at not only his championship but Bruno as he walked away from the ring. Backstage, Mark Henry was irate he that he couldn't defeat the Undertaker. Ted Dibiase tried to calm him down, but this lead to Mark Henry tossing Ted Dibiase through the craft services table with a World's strongest slam! Security quickly intervened and Mark Henry was escorted away from the now down and out Ted Dibiase. Back in the ring, the ring announcer announced the main event. Lex Luger & Hulk Hogan Vs. Curtis Axel & Ric Flair - of course, it was to be expected Curtis Axel would do everything in his power to avoid Hulk Hogan at all costs. Curtis and Flair weren't really on the same page since Curtis unfairly rolled him up to win his newly one number on contenders spot. Curtis kept tagging out every time Lex Luger tagged in Hulk Hogan. However due to his inexperience compared to the others, Curtis Axel would mistakenly blind tag Ric Flair and try to cover Hulk Hogan during a brief time were they both were out on the mat. Which would lead to Curtis Axel getting big booted and Leg dropped. Hogan posed for the fans before going for the cover and Lex Luger reached out and blind tagged himself in rushing over to get the cover for the one, two, three. A dazed and confused Hulk Hogan watched Lex Luger celebrate as if he had wrestled the entire bout on his own. Lex Luger celebrated with his championship leaving Hulk Hogan hanging as he tried to hold up Lex Luger's arm out of good sportsmanship. Hulk Hogan just stood in the ring staring at Lex Luger as he walked away. However this didn't stop Hulk Hogan from giving the fans a pose down, Hulk Hogan posed for the audience as the broadcast came to a conclusion. |
